Introduction – PS3 Jailbreak

Before you are able to jailbreak your ps3, you must first understand what a ps3 jailbreak does, in terms of legal and hardware.

4. Winrar (optional) – Or any other extraction program.

Step 1:

Ensure your PS3 is updated to the latest Original Firmware (4.81), do that by checking system information.

Step 2:

Download the latest ps3 jailbreak firmware. By clicking the image below it will take you to the download page. At the same time, plug in your USB flash drive.

Step 3:

Extract the folder using Winrar. – Or any other extraction program.

Step 4:

Step 5:

Now the console should be 3.55 ofw. You should now be able to install custom firmware on your device. To do this, power off your console and remove the USB stick, and plug it into your computer.

Step 7:

Drag the UPDATE folder into the PS3 folder, and accept overwrites. Now that the USB has 4.81 cfw, you need to plug it back into the console, and Update via Storage Media again.

Step 8:

You should now have 3.55 cfw installed on your PS3. Now that you have this, we recommend you setup FTP to enable you to transfer files back and forth from your computer to your console via the network.
